This is my newer video series about FreeCAD x KiCAD. FreeCAD is a parametric 3D modeling software. While KiCAD is a software for creating PCB designs. Currently, KiCAD already has quite a lot of components. However, sometimes the available components do not have a 3D model. Or sometimes the components we need are not there. This is normal considering the many types of electronic components that exist.
Therefore, in this video series, I will show you how to draw 3D Models and footprints of electronic components using FreeCAD. The 3D model is then exported as a step file, while the footprint is exported as a dxf file. In KiCAD, you can create a footprint library based on this .dxf file also import the 3D model using this .step file.
