Описание: Ahmadpur Katwa Railway is a narrow gauge line, built and operated as part of McLeod's Light Railways. The track (760 mm) was opened to traffic on 29 September 1917.In 1966 the Indian Railway had taken over the operation of this narrow gauge railway from McLeod & Company.Though the MPS of this NG Railbus is 15 kmph, the LPs usually "overspeeds" at 25 kmph.We started our memorable (though abit bumpy!) journey from Ahmadpur Junction which comes in between Bolpur and Sainthia in Shahibganj loop line section. One can see the BG station at the right.
