🔥 Review:
The Room 101 Ichiban Habano Torpedo started off on the wrong foot from a construction standpoint. The draw was notably tight out of the gate, started with a V-cut, followed by two passes with a guillotine cutter, and ultimately the use of a draw tool just to reach an acceptable level of airflow. This was not a humidity issue, as the cigar rested at a well-controlled 64 percent, squarely within my preferred range.

Burn performance struggled early, running uneven for roughly the first inch and a half. After a touch-up, it corrected itself mostly, though the burn line remained wavy through the remainder of the smoke. The irregular burn returned in the final third, but no issues with remaining lit.

Flavor-wise, the profile was more forgiving than the construction. The retrohale was smooth and restrained, with no harshness. Core notes leaned toward cedar, cream, and toast, with a subtle hint of leather showing itself primarily through the retrohale. The profile was straightforward and balanced, though it never fully overcame the distractions caused by the draw and burn issues.

🗣️ Commentary:
There is a pleasant flavor foundation here, especially in the retrohale, but the mechanical problems demanded too much effort to ignore. With better draw consistency, this cigar could deliver a far more enjoyable experience.
