300 tourists stranded as ropeway stalls mid-air in Kashmir’s Gulmarg: rescue ops underway

Around 300 tourists were stranded, triggering panic among passengers. Several tourists broke down in fear and shouted for help to be brought down safely.

Eyewitnesses said children and elderly passengers appeared the most terrified. Soon after the incident was reported, special rescue teams were rushed from Srinagar, while the Indian Army also reached the spot. The Army, police and local administration launched a large-scale rescue operation.
