Holiday Time at Disneyland (1962)

In this episode, we see a number of attractions that opened during the first six years of Disneyland that were tied to holidays and special occasions.

Also, Disneyland's Main Street, USA, which was modeled after late-19th Century-era Main Streets, is prominently featured in this episode. In addition, an entire segment of the program is dedicated to Gala Day at Disneyland from 1959, since that day saw the openings of the Disneyland Lagoon and the Journey Into Liquid space, the Disneyland Monorail, and the Matterhorn.

In the last part of the program, we see a parade, known popularly as "Fantasy on Parade". An expanded version of "Fantasy on Parade" appeared in "Disneyland Around the Seasons" a few years later.

Of special note, more than once during the presentation, we see Walt Disney with a man with glasses and his kids. That man is none other than Olan Soule, who voiced Batman for a generation, beginning with the 1968 Filmation series, and then continued with Hanna-Barbera, first in two episodes of the "All-New Scooby Movies" from 1972, and then for the first nine seasons of the Super Friends.

All rights and credits go to the Walt Disney Company and those that created the audio and video, including the music used in the program. That includes the Disney Channel, as I originally recorded the program more than 17 years ago on their Vault Disney block.
