Описание: Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon announces the immediate suspension of all road "reblocking" projects across the Philippines to stop the wasteful practice of destroying and rebuilding adequate roads.

In a press conference, the Secretary laid out key updates on the agency's anti-corruption initiatives, including the signing of agreements with the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), and the Insurance Commission to fast-track the recovery of stolen public funds. To date, the AMLC has frozen over 1,600 bank accounts valued at more than ₱4 billion.

The DPWH also detailed its disaster response efforts, including:

The 60-day target for a new detour bridge following the Pigatan Bridge collapse in Alcala, Cagayan.

Ongoing repairs of typhoon-damaged classrooms in Masbate.

The status of tent cities and aid for earthquake victims in Northern Cebu.

Furthermore, the agency is set to implement major reforms, such as a "Citizens' Participatory Audit" to increase transparency and stricter guidelines for flood control projects.
