Tearing Down A "'bad" Volvo B8444S: Is This The Most Reliable Euro V8 Engine? How Did It Fail?

This is the Volvo B8444S 4.4L V8 from a Volvo XC90 or S80. These are remarkably reliable engines and I've had MANY people ask to see one on the channel. It has taken YEARS to find a bad example to teardown. So, what happened? how did this engine fail?

We salvage the good, sellable parts and recycle rest. No, we don't rebuild engines but we do sell parts to people who do!
