The US$ 14.92 billion Sulu Sultanate dispute is especially relevant now as this is one of the top priorities that the Law Minister Dato' Sri Azalina Othman focused on, as seen in her recent statement in parliament that the government will set up a special secretariat to ensure coordination of issues on the Sulu claims. The Sulu Claim is a dispute over an arbitration award issued by a French arbitration court in February 2022 which ordered Malaysia to pay the US$15 billion sum (RM 67.25 billion) to the descendants of the last Sultan of Sulu. #NotepadWithIbrahimSani
