Legislators from Kiruhura and Mbarara districts have tasked the ministry of water and environment to construct valley tanks instead of ordinary dams to facilitate irrigation and domestic use.
The MPs argue that dams only benefit a few residents yet the cost of construction is too high as compared to valley tanks.
