At age 31, two weeks after giving birth to her second child, Elizabeth O'Connor was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. After an initial sense of despair, she drew on the support of her family, her community, and SU2C Pancreatic Cancer Dream Team leader Dr. Daniel D. Von Hoff for strength. Dr. Von Hoff began a targeted chemotherapy treatment followed by surgery that, despite Elizabeth's bleak diagnosis, may allow her to not only see her children grow up, but her children's children. Elizabeth's story was broadcast as part of the September 7, 2012 Stand Up To Cancer telecast.
