BAD:

1 - Price

On the face of it the BMW i7 starts at $120k and the Mercedes EQS starts at $104k - so if you’re simply looking for the cheapest between the two then you CAN get an EQS for less money

HOwever, that cheapr EQS450 isn’t a competitor on power and it doesn’t even offer dual motor AWD
For the true competitor from Mb you’re looking at the EQS580, which starts at $126k…so another 7 grand MORE than the i7


2 - The architecture

About 320 miles of range
Dual motor AWD
The thing that I’m talking about here is the 400V architecture which results in the charging speed being a little slower than some other EVs out there
This i7 will still charge about 80 miles per 10 minutes, but things like the Ioniq5 and EV6 are charging almost completely in under 20 min


3 - Little nitpicks

The doors dont always work - they always open and close but they might bump you
There’s no digi rear view mirror - an issue when the TV is down
It’s kinda ugly - but at least it’s better looking than the EQS

GOOD:

1 - The drive

The power is plentiful and potent
535 hp and 550 lbft
0-60 in under 5 seconds
The ride can be an air suspension and has the suppleness to rival a Rolls Royce


2 - The TV

This is honestly the most game-changing feature I’ve seen in a LONG time…and the craziest thing is that it’s less than 5 grand for the TV!

Honestly such a cool feature, and so worth it for the money


3 - The doors

Honestly, I like these doors more than the ones on the RR Ghost from the other week - never thought i’d spend an entire point on doors, but when they’re as cool as this…


4 - The cameras

Of course you have excellent 360 cameras as you’d expect form BMW, but this i7 takes things a step further

First you have the front camera operating with your AR navigation to show you EXACTLY where to turn within your gague cluster
THEN there’s the carbon camera which isn’t used to monitor babies, but to take selfies of you and your friends..it even has a smile trigger..insane
PLUS you can access the interior camera in your BMW app to see if anyone is breaking in and you can record them as well

Plus you have exterior cameras that make up your drive recorder so if you’re ever hit you have evidence that it wasnt your fault


5 - The crystal

There’s crystal for your start/stop button
Your volume scroll wheel
Your gear selector tab
Your iDrive wheel
Your seat controls on your door
AND rimming the entire dash


6 - Luxuries

Not only is the build solid and the materials exquisite, and the design stunning, but it’s all integrated really well with all the luxury features you’d expect
Heated and cooled seats everywhere
Massage seats everywhere
The right rear passenger gets the reclining lounge seat thing for full stretch
You’ve even got pillows for headrests so you can really take a nap


7 - Miscellaneous drive stuff

First are the drive modes - you have normal ones like comfort, eco and sport
But then you have some weird ones like expressive, relax, theater, and my favorite - digital art

But wait there’s more - we have to talk about the driver assist suite here
It’s incredible, it’s essentially good for hands-free driving up to 85 mph

And Of course we say that with the asterisk that you should always be paying attention and ready to retake control, but this is a very good system so kudos to BMW

And finally, here seem to be shift paddles, but they’re really boost paddles to give you extra power for 10 seconds at a time

As if this thing needed to be quicker…


Conclusion

So those are the 7 coolest features of the BMW i7 - Every year I drive around 100 new cars, and I have to say his one will stick out in my mind as one of the most special I’ve driven this year, and probably ever - so thanks again to international BMW for letting me check it out!

So thats the best and the rest of the BMW i7, and I have to say, i’m blown away by how cool this thing is. It’s another level of luxury, it’s another level or technology integration, and it comes together in a way you can actually use and enjoy! Hugely impressed
