Third-generation computers (1964–1971) were the tech glow-up of their time!
They switched from vacuum tubes and transistors to integrated circuits (ICs) – basically microchips that made everything faster, smaller, and more reliable. These computers were less bulky, used less power, and were way more efficient. Think: the OG multitaskers of the computing world.
They introduced keyboards and monitors (bye-bye punch cards), could run multiple programs at once (hello, multitasking), and were used in both science labs and businesses.
