Nvidia, widely seen as the poster child of the AI revolution, has surged to become the largest company on Wall Street.
Now valued at over $4 trillion, Nvidia has overtaken tech giants such as Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, and Google. Its stock movements now exert more influence on the S&P 500 and other major indices than any company apart from Apple.
Remarkably, just two years ago, Nvidia’s market capitalisation was under $600 billion.
The rapid rise of Nvidia and other firms riding the AI wave has been a key driver behind the S&P 500’s series of record-breaking highs, including another peak last week.
This explosive growth in profits has fuelled the market’s momentum, even as concerns persist about stubbornly high inflation and potential economic challenges posed by tariffs and other policies introduced under President Donald Trump.
