A heartfelt conversation with Matthew Pruen and Mirvat Bakkour around “Healing the Wounds of History”
It started from an international conference launched by Alexandra and George Asseily: “Healing the Wounds of History, Addressing the Roots of Violence” which took place between November 11th and 13th of 2011 in Byblos raised an important question: How can we stop repeating history, especially one that is violent?
The complex answer was by weaving a system where the process of forgiveness by healing trauma can occur.
Consequently, a life-changing project was born: The co-creation of a series of workshops by Alexandra Asseily and Matthew Pruen that Mirvat Bakkour joined in co-facilitating since 2013 that addressed target 3.4: Reduce mortality from non-communicable diseases and promote mental health and target 16.A: Strengthen national institutions to prevent violence and combat crime and terrorism.
