This video shows you some of the things we've done to update our travel trailer. We started with the outside because we love the paint job that we did. We still love it, and it held up well on the trip to Alaska. It got a few nicks, but nothing we couldn't touch up. Also on the outside, Sharon painted the back of the travel trailer. We hadn't done it last year because it had held its color much better than the sides and front of the trailer. In this past year, it had faded.

We also replaced the sofa. Patches, MiLena's cat, was just a kitten when we bought the trailer. We had nothing she could use to sharpen her claws, so she used the sofa. That and the fact that it was six years old and had been used a lot helped us decide we needed a new one. We were in Walmart one day and saw a gray futon that we thought would work. Sharon took off the four bolts holding in the old sofa. Sharon unscrewed those and we took out the old sofa and slid in the futon; she just didn't put the legs on it.

The arms of the sofa were the brown vinyl that from the old sofa. Sharon and I saw some outdoor heavy material that was dark denim blue. Being the seamstresses that we are, Sharon took a staple gun and attached the blue material so that the brown vinyl doesn't show.

After doing that, we noticed that our curtains were about worn out. One day when Sharon was walking through Walmart, she saw some sheets she thought would work. Since neither of us have a sewing machine, Sharon used some iron on hem. Is it a perfect match? No. Will it bother us? No.

Although this was done earlier, replacing the faucets freshened up the look of our trailer. The kitchen faucet had to be replaced, and while she was replacing, Sharon decided to replace the bathroom faucet. The other one was worn.

The other thing we did was replace the counter extension. As we told you in a different video, the road to Chicken, Alaska caused a bracket on the old extension to break. Sharon bought a plastic cutting board to place the old extension. Not only did it work, but it gave us more room.

These are the things we've done to give our trailer a fresher look. They weren't expensive and we were able to do them ourselves.
