During his time serving as a sergeant clerk in the military, former CDM soldier U Than Lin revealed firsthand experiences of systematic election fraud inside military polling stations.

He explained that soldiers were forced to mark ballots only for the USDP, with no freedom to vote for any other party—even a single alternative choice was not allowed. Despite long lines of people waiting to vote, only four or five individuals were allowed to cast ballots for show, while the rest were told that voting was no longer necessary and sent away.

These revelations directly contradict the military junta’s repeated accusations against the National League for Democracy (NLD) and expose how Min Aung Hlaing and the military rigged elections themselves, then shifted the blame to civilians to justify the coup.
