On Monday, residents of Rawaliya Khurd village in Gogunda block of Udaipur district submitted a memorandum to Gogunda Tehsildar Praveen Kumar Saini. The memorandum stated that four bighas of government land in the village had been occupied for years by Kaloo Singh, Hira Singh, Lal Singh, Mangu Singh, Mohan Singh, Khet Singh, Hanuman Singh, Nahar Singh, and Chhagni Bai, all residents of the village. These individuals had also paid the penalty under Section 91 for occupying the land. However, in 2016, Kushal Lohar, also a resident of the village, colluded with revenue department officials and had the government land allotted in his name, even though he had never occupied the land. When the villagers learned about this allocation, they appealed to the District Collector to cancel the allotment, and the matter is currently under review. They further stated that when the accused allottee became aware of the appeal, he sold the land to Chetan Paliwal of Semtal and is now in the process of getting the land transferred to his name. The villagers demanded that the transfer of ownership be stopped.
