🏡 May is Historic Preservation Month — and we're kicking off a special video series celebrating local gems that have received the Model Colony Award, honoring outstanding preservation of our city’s historic character.
🎥 First up: the Colonel J.P. Robertson House, a stunning 2-story Victorian home nestled in the Euclid Avenue Historic District. Built in 1896 by banker Colonel Robertson, this home has seen generations of Ontario history — from orange growers to publishers, and a 50-year stewardship by the Lundquist family.
With its hipped pyramid roof, wraparound veranda, pocket doors, original hardware, and Hollywood-style driveway, it’s a timeless masterpiece that’s been lovingly maintained through the Mills Act program.
🏆 The property received an Award of Merit in 2010 and continues to shine thanks to thoughtful restorations and modern upgrades.
Stay tuned all month as we share more Model Colony Award winners and the stories behind the homes that help keep our history alive. 💫
