10-Minute Peas Potato Masala | Easy Dinner Side Dish
A quick, flavour-packed peas potato masala—perfect with chapati, roti, or dosa. Ready in just 10 minutes.
Ingredients
For the masala paste
1 ripe tomato (large)
2 tbsp coconut chunks
1 inch of ginger
8–10 garlic cloves
3 green chillies
Handful of coriander leaves
1 small cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 tsp fennel seeds
For the curry
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 cup onion (chopped)
A few mint leaves (chopped)
1 large potato (cubed)
½ tsp turmeric
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
¾ cup green peas
1 cup water
Method
Grind all masala paste ingredients into a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add onions and sauté for 2–3 mins. Add mint leaves.
Add potatoes and sauté for 1 min.
Add prepared masala paste, turmeric, coriander powder, chilli powder, and salt. Cook 2–3 mins.
Add green peas and water. Mix well, cover, and cook for 2–3 whistles (or until potatoes are soft).
Open, mix well, and serve hot.
