First fun day Monday - hotpot and ice skating for our family adventures in 2022

Описание: For our family adventures, I found myself staying home with two active boys after my husband left for work on our first Monday morning in Vietnam. With no school (not enrolled yet, still looking to enroll in the next semester that will begin in January 2023)I faced new challenges of home schooling in a foreign country in Vietnam on our 1st Monday. We decided to make it a fun day by going out for lunch and ice skating at VINCOM.
I have been relying on my husband to take us every where since we arrived in Vietnam 6 days ago. I feel isolated in Vietnam because I don’t any friends other then my husband and two young sons. I don’t understand or speak any Vietnamese language. I only know how to say “thank you and I love you “ in Vietnamese at of today. I am somewhat disappointed that very few local Vietnamese people can speak English living in a supposed to be a major metropolitan city like Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City). However, I feel motivated to learn how to speak Vietnamese because everyone in Vietnam seems happy and very friendly to us. Plus, everyone thinks I speak Vietnamese because I look like a Vietnamese woman and have a Vietnamese last name like most people here (I see “Nguyen” on the signs everywhere in the city).
I really miss my friends back home in the USA. I am thankful for the technology that allows me to stay in touch with my friends and family remotely via social media and many different apps on my iPhone. I am specifically thankful for the Grab app that allows me to get a safe and reliable taxi and driver to go outside with my two sons.
I took my kids out for the first time, only three of us, to a large shopping mall called VINCOM CENTER. This place seems to have everything brand name items and restaurants. We had a great time eating a hotpot meal at my favorite restaurant and then watching my kids having fun skating in the ice skating rink ( no time limit for skating, it’s heaven for my kids for skating and didn’t even want to leave). The place also has high speed WiFi. They were skating there so long (3+ hours) that I had more than sufficient time to make this YouTube video and post it before we returned home. I would usually call my friends when I am alone in the USA but I would wake them up since Vietnam is 12 hours ahead of Atlanta. I walked and looked around the shopping mall instead. Many people were looking at their smartphones in their hand even the mall employees. I feel that I fitted right in, I bland in the crowd really well. If I can speak Vietnamese, I am sure that I will feel like home and who knows that I will meet new friends in my new country in Vietnam during our family adventures.
