Egyptian style sweet pumpkin casserole

Usually this casserole is topped with sweetened sweet béchamel sauce. However, in this recipe I am topping it with milk pudding and using a combination of cornstarch and rice flour to thicken it. The addition of rice flour gives the pudding a unique taste.
Ingredients for pumpkin:
2 kg pumpkin (weighed after trimming and cutting)
7 tablespoon (88 g) granulated sugar
1/2 cup red or golden raisins
1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts (can be replaced by almonds)
For the milk pudding:
4 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoon rice flour
3 cups (720 ml) milk
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Tips:
Increase sugar as desired.
This dish could be served hot, warm or cold.
You can prepare it ahead without broiling the top and place in the fridge for a couple of days. Then when ready to serve, heat in the oven and broil the top.
