Useful free programs for Windows - selected by me. 8. Working with MP3 files: mp3Gain, mp3DirectCut

Описание: In a series of videos, I will present you with useful, free programs (freeware and open source) that I use, which can help you in your daily work with your computer - music, cleaning, graphics, archiving, photo processing, texts and much more.

In this video, while we’re still on a musical theme – following the presentation of the classic Winamp player – we will take a look at three programs for working with MP3 files: mp3Gain, mp3DirectCut, and mp3Knife.

1. mp3Gain is a program for normalizing the volume of MP3 files. It is useful when you have songs with different volume levels in a given Winamp playlist (or in a folder on your computer) and you want to make them play at approximately the same loudness.
You can download it from the developer’s website (make sure to download the full file: mp3gain-win-full-1_2_5.exe). Here is the link:

2. mp3Knife is a simple and straightforward program for cutting out a part of an MP3 file, but it does not work on Windows 11 (at least for me), because it is older and supported only up to Windows 8. I’m showing it here for completeness, as I still use it on Windows7.

3. mp3DirectCut is a more advanced program with many features, which I have also used for cutting parts of an MP3 file or splitting an MP3 into several segments. It offers quite a few interesting functions.
