To get this perfect spot for viewing and recording the show, I booked the free special admission tickets using Virtual Queue at precisely 12 noon from inside the Park. I then showed up 1 hour and 15 minutes before show time to be admitted to the special center lakefront area for ticket holders and got the prime spot. I did this for both nights we were at Disney California Adventure to video the Hurry Home Lunar New Year Celebration, the Muppets, and now: the World of Color Happiness! water projection shows.
