Yorkshire pudding is similar to a popover, and is a savory, custardy bread that was traditionally cooked under a roast in the drippings but nowadays is often cooked in it's own pan or muffin tins as a side dish. Wassail is a warming drink that translates to the Anglo Saxon word for "good health" and was traditionally served in large silver or pewter bowls on New Year's Eve or 12th night to bring good health into the coming year. There are many different variations on this drink, but it always fills a home with the lovely smell of mulling spices as it cooks and brings warmth and good cheer.
"Love and Joy come to you,
And to you your Wassail too..."
May the New year be filled with good health, love and joy for you all. Happy Holidays and we will see you all back in the New Year!
