The original installation had no mixing valve and no potable water expansion tank, which caused temperature instability and pressure spikes during reheating. This upgrade brings the system up to modern plumbing code and improves both safety and performance.

Installed new Heat‑Flo 60 indirect tank
Added code‑required potable water expansion tank
Installed thermostatic mixing valve for safe 120°F delivery
Re‑piped cold feed and hot water distribution
Verified boiler priority and zone valve operation
Purged and tested the indirect zone

Why these upgrades matter:
A mixing valve allows the tank to store water at higher temperatures for better recovery while delivering safe water to fixtures. A potable expansion tank protects the plumbing system from pressure spikes caused by thermal expansion—especially important when a check valve or backflow preventer is present.
