I cover the different types blacksmith swage block uses. Swage blocks are definitely one of the handiest types of blacksmith tools and equipment you can have.
The type of swage block I have is a Green Mengel Swage Block available at Pieh Tool Co (website: www.piehtoolco.com ).
Swage block use is a normal part of my week. I've built a swage block stand to cradle my swage block, which makes it really handy. Like I mentioned above, you can buy a swage block online. You also might find a swage block for sale at a blacksmith conference with tailgate sales.
You could also make your own swage block anvil. Keep an eye out for more info soon!
This swage block is made of steel, I will also show how to make an impromptu swage block from wood in the future.
