The discussion was: Are we closer to attacking Iran? Since last June when the US sent planes from America to bomb Iranian nuclear sites and Iran telegraphed that it would send missiles to an American military base in the region, there were conflicting reports about how long it would take for Iran's nuclear program to build back up. Negotiations with Iran are stalled, because the Iranians are not willing to pause or stop their missile program either.

Netanyahu and Trump have met six times. They discussed working together to curb Iran's oil exports to China, 80% of their sales.

Israeli and American military officers have met at the Pentagon. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner continue negotiations with Iran in Geneva in the presence of mediators from Oman, while the president is sending a second carrier group with thousands of troops on board and fighter aircraft to the Middle East. The White House says all options are on the table, and US officials told Reuters that the US military is preparing for 'the possibility of sustained, weeks long operations.'

The former shah's son spoke to 200,000 protesters outside the Munich Security Conference to encourage US military intervention and protests against the Islamic Republic erupted around the world in Australia, Greece, Turkey, and England, calling for regime change in the wake of massive protests inside Iran where thousands were killed.

In a potential military operation, the US could attack govt. and security facilities as well as nuclear sites. There has been talk of assassinating the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

It is an election year and referendum on support for Trump's aggressive moves against Venezuela, Iran, and Greenland. Will timing of a potential more widespread and longterm bombing of Iran depend in part on Trump's poll numbers in the US?

Can the military successfully defend against counterattacks on American bases in 6 countries and possible region-wide war? Is regime change possible without ground troops or is that too risky?

The takeaway was: It really doesn't seem like such a good idea to attack Iran right now, and it is questionable whether Trump is getting good advice on the issue.
