One more Berhampur famous snacks recipe Aanta Khaja. Aanta means hard and khaja means sweet so it is super crisp sweet…it is also called as Palakaya. This recipe I learnt from my sweet mom, so this one dedicated to her.
Here I share the tips n tricks in the video to make it crisp…so lets get started.
Soaking Time 5 hours
Preparation Time 10 min
Frying Time 3 min per batch
Serving Persons 4 to 6
Ingredients
1 cup rice(soaked for 4-5 hours)
¼ cup sugar
½ cup rice flour
2 tbsp sesame seeds
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp water
Oil to deep fry
sesame seeds for rolling on aanta khaja
Procedure
Strain the soaked rice and dry it for 30 min on a thick cloth.
When it is semi dry, grind to coarse powder.
Add all ingredients and knead to a tight dough.
Make dumpling and prepare aanta khaja.
Roll each khaja with sesame seeds.
Deep fry till crisp and golden.
