On February 22, 1985, eight-year-old Cherrie Mahan vanished in broad daylight just 150 yards from her front door in rural Pennsylvania. What should have been a routine walk from the school bus turned into one of America's most haunting unsolved mysteries.
Cherrie's mother, Janice McKinney, could hear the bus arrive that Friday afternoon. She watched from the window as her daughter stepped off with her friends. But Cherrie never made it home. In the time it takes to walk down a driveway, she disappeared without a trace—no screams, no struggle, no witnesses.

THE INVESTIGATION
Police launched massive searches involving bloodhounds, helicopters, and 250 volunteers. They investigated her parents, her biological father's motorcycle gang connections, and pursued thousands of tips over the decades. The case gained national attention when Cherrie became one of the first missing children featured on milk cartons and "Have You Seen Me?" postcards.

THE MYSTERIOUS VAN
Witnesses reported seeing a distinctive bluish-green van with a mural of a skier on a snowy mountain trailing Cherrie's school bus that day. Despite extensive searches, this van—and Cherrie—were never found.
SHOCKING NEW DEVELOPMENTS (2023-2025)
Nearly 40 years later, explosive allegations have emerged involving former neighbours, including John Montgomery and his son William "Buddy" Montgomery, a convicted sxx offender. Buddy has been exchanging letters from prison with Janice, denying involvement but hinting at information about his father's "inner circle."

In September 2024, cadaver dogs were deployed to search a "pinpointed area" based on new leads. Private investigator Steve Ridge has offered $100,000 for information leading to Cherrie's whereabouts.
