How to build a slant board for athletes

Tools required:
Tape measure
Drill
Drill bit (11/64")
Phillips Drill Driver bit
Straight edge (ruler/level/etc)
Circular saw or table saw
Jig Saw (if carrying handle is desired)
Sandpaper

Materials Required:
1/2" thick Plywood (2'x2' sheets available at Lowes for $6)
2x6 lumber at least 4 feet long (2"x6"x8' pine board available at Lowes for $5)
3" Deck Screws, quantity 4 (1-lb box available at Lowes for $9)
1 1/4" Deck Screws, quantity 8 (1-lb box available at Lowes for $7)
Textured spray paint (single cans available at Lowes for $6-10)

Steps:
1) Cut plywood into a 13" x 14" rectangle (13 x 14 1/8" to be super precise) using either a circular saw, or table saw.

2) Cut two 13" length boards from the 2 x 6 using a circular saw or chop saw.

3) Use a straight edge to mark a diagonal line splitting one of the 2x6 pieces into two equal triangles. Cut along the marked line with your circular saw or table saw.

4) On the other 13" 2x6, use your speed square or straight edge, to create a rectangle by marking lengths at 4.5" and 8.5", and then 1.5" deep. Use a jigsaw or scroll saw to cut out the rectangle. This step can be skipped if you don't desire a carrying handle.

5) Align the triangle boards to the edge of the back board, with notched side up.

6) Use your drill with 11/64" bit to pre-drill two screw holes per side thru the back of the back board into the slant boards.

7) Use drill with driver bit to screw the boards together thru the pre-drilled holes using four 3" deck screws.

8) Align the plywood platform board onto the slanted angle boards. The bottom edge should come the floor and the top edge should align with the back board. Be sure that the outside edge of the slanted boards line up with the outside edges of the plywood as well. Use your drill with 11/64" bit to pre-drill four screw holes per side (8 total) thru the plywood into the slanted angle boards.

9) Use drill with driver bit to screw the boards together thru the pre-drilled holes using eight 1 1/4" deck screws.

10) Paint the entire slantboard with textured paint, or adhesive backed textured tape.

11) Stand and stretch!!! :-)
