Edward the Mutant Potato

This is the story of Edward the Potato.

Several months ago, Edward was living happily in damp, cold and muddy student accommodation in a field in Essex. He was having the time of his life. Details are blurry for Edward, but after a particularly wild night out with his mate Spud at the campus bar, he awoke to find that he had been mysteriously kidnapped and shoved into a sealed plastic bag with a large number of his friends. After a long, uncomfortable journey he eventually found himself in what he now understands to be a kitchen cupboard.

Each day, more of his friends would mysteriously disappear, causing Edward to suspect cult involvement or alien abduction. After what seemed like a lifetime of captivity, Edward bravely orchestrated an elaborate escape from the vegetable bag. Sadly, out of all that tried, he was the only one that successfully made it out. He was forced to live rough in a small gap at the back of the kitchen unit for several weeks, only moving around during the night for fear of discovery.

However, before long, Edward discovered that he had grown the perfect tools to aid his escape -- GIANT mutant potato arms! Having gained mastery of his new limbs, Edward finally managed to prise open the cupboard door and hurl himself through the cat flap.

Despite the appalling treatment he had received from his kidnapper, Edward found himself longing for some connection to his captor -- his therapist recognised this as Stockholm Syndrome. Unable to resist the temptation, Edward will regularly sneak back in to the house through the cat flap and visit the site of the small cell in which he was contained.

Edward is now using music therapy to help him try to come to terms with the trauma induced by his incarceration.
