The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has approved major changes to the FIDE Circuit, introducing a new structure and stricter regulations starting from January 1, 2026.
Approved by the FIDE Council on December 26, 2025, the overhaul aims to make qualification to elite chess events more performance-driven and transparent.
