Red Bank Blues is a swampy blues song inspired by true events on the Chesapeake Bay during Prohibition.
In 1921 on Virginia’s Eastern Shore near Red Bank, U.S. Coast Guard officers discovered and seized 514 burlap sacks of liquor hidden along the Bay’s marshes and waterways. Moonshiners used small boats, oyster sacks, and the foggy tidal creeks to move alcohol under cover of darkness — until one unlucky night.

This song tells that story through a humorous, waterman-style blues lens, blending history, oysters, moonshine, and the rhythms of the Chesapeake Bay.
