The interception occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on February 26, 2026, during a routine checkpoint and search operation along the Maiduguri–Gubio main supply route. Hidden beneath planks of wood in the vehicle, troops discovered large textile fabrics, 20 Hilux tyre tubes, motorcycle spare parts, 10 cutlasses, and three mobile phones—all suspected to be logistics supplies for terro*rist operations.
