CORRECTION - CONNECTOR RESISTANCE WAS TESTED AGAIN WITH BETTER MULTI-METER IN MY NEW VIDEO * SEE NOTES IN VIDEO AND PARAGRAPH BELOW *
Vaseline and dielectric grease are widely used in wire connectors of motorcycles and automobiles to keep the moisture out and prevent the connections from rusting and sticking. There are different opinions on how to use them and if one is better than other. The electrical resistance of each was tested and their effect in wire connectors resistance was explored. Both are NON conductors and slightly raised the resistance of connectors.
CORRECTION - The above test was repeated with better multimeter in my new follow up video "INNOVA CENTECH MULTI METERS COMPARISON AND VASELINE RESISTANCE IN CONNECTORS" to see correct values of resistance.
This cheap red digital multimeter had very high background ohms (blank control) values, so gave high artificial readings for connector.
Subtract background resistance from meter reading with connector to estimate connector resistance, which was practically negligible. Nor there was detectable change in resistance with Vaseline or DEG as shown in new video with better multimeter.
