Hi all, this is a video featuring my three arm delta parallel 3 axis robot which i build using some cardboard, plastic rods, 3 hobby servos and a Raspberry Pi. The project is really easy and cheap to build and has HUGE potential but beware that the maths behind kinematic equations which drive the 3 servos is quite tricky.
The end linkage of the robot is capable of moving in all three translational axes so can be used to draw on paper(as i have done), to cut paper/ wood/plastic(with a cutting tool) or to function as a 3D printer(with an extruder).
The main limitation of this design is that the hobby servos do not move smoothly very easily, especially when the robot is drawing curved shapes. This leads to wobbly or shakey lines. The fact that there is a lot of play in the arms only exacerbates this problem. To try and fix it i am working on adding bamboo or steel rods with birch arms whcih connect to the servos so there will be much less flexing of these components. I also want to space the parallel rods furthewr apart to hold the end effector parallel to the base more firmly.
I hope to upload another video after i make some progress with this.
Until then, I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did please give it a like and if you want to see more subscribe to my chanel.
