One of the problems confronting food security in Nigeria is inadequate preservation techniques resulting in huge post harvest losses.

In order to tackle the problem, efforts are on by government agencies and other stakeholders to come up with modern methods of preservation.

Our focus tonight is on the Gamma Irradiation Technology centre established by the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission to manage post harvest losses and help Nigeria attain food security.
