Ernakulam - Palakkad ( via NH 966A, NH 544 ): (Cheranellore to Malampuzha dam/garden)

Описание: Video of our journey from Ernakulam to Palakkad (Malampuzha dam) via NH 544 (Salem-Kochi highway). The distance covered is 135 KMS approx and it took approx 3 hrs. The journey from Ernakulam to Palakkad crosses the Trissur district. The video starts from Cheranellore signal junction. For those who are not familiar, following is the way to reach the Cheranellore signal junction, in terms of the more popular Edappally signal junction/Lulu mall. Cheranellore signal junction is 6 kms from Edappally signal junction and Lulu mall. Once you cross the Edappally signal, you can see Lulu mall on the right side. If you are coming from Kalamassery to Edappally direction, turn right at Edappally signal and go straight. If you are coming from Kaloor to Edappally direction, turn left at Edapplly signal and go straight. If you are coming from Vyttilla to Edappally direction, go straight from the Edappally signal. First you would encounter the Kunnumpuram signal junction, go straight and you will reach the Cheranellore signal junction. Then turn right to get on to NH 66A (Container road).

Cheranellore - Ernakulam district, Kerala

Malampuzha dam/garden is a popular tourist destination in the Palakkad district, in Kerala state, India. It is a good place to spend an evening.

Kuthiran tunnel (Time in video: 22.52) is a twin tube tunnel in the Trissur district. At the time of this journey, only one of the twin tube tunnel was opened. The one opened was that in the direction of Palakkad to Ernakulam. Vehicles in both directions travelled through this one.

Paliyekkara toll plaza (Time in video: 12.30) - At the time we travelled, it was Rs 80 for cars.
