This promotional travelogue, made by the National FIlm Unit for the Christchurch City Council, shows off the city and its environs.
While contemporary Christchurch is a multicultural city, the ‘British’ character which it was traditionally known for is captured in this film. Notable buildings and places featured include the Christchurch Cathedral and Cathedral Square, the Arts Centre (formerly Canterbury College), Christ’s College, the Avon river, Lyttelton Harbour, Sumner Beach, and the Canterbury Plains.
