Aboriginal Elder Rodney Dillon, who works with Amnesty and the families at Yuendemu, says the coroner’s investigation of the death of Kumanjayi Walker underscore that the issue is bigger than racism in the police, “it’s hatred”.
He calls on the Commonwealth Government to respond to the findings “so that this never happens again”, and says the NT Government is not capable of making the changes needed. He is speaking on Melukerdee Country in lutruwita/Tasmania on 8 July.
