Offhand flourishing can look really intimidating, even to those with experience in penmanship/pointed pen calligraphy, but I believe simple flourishes are achievable by all! I break down a quill flourish, including my materials and drills to warm up before getting into it. I also explain the pen grip that I use, which is special for offhand flourishing.
☞ MATERIALS ☜
Nib recommendations: Leonardt Principal EF, Hunt 101, Gillott 303 or Zebra/Nikko/Tachikawa G
Ink: Walnut ink or iron gall
Paper: Rhodia pad, Clairefontaine notebook or Fabriano Traccia
For the white on black flourish:
Ink: Dr PH Martin's Bleedproof White & Finetec Arabic gold
