The Santa Fe Chief was an all Room train from Chicago to Los Angeles. In its golden age such famous power pulled this train as they came available after the War. F3’s became the mainstay after 1948 but only for a short time 1948-1950 both the FMs and the Alco fleet would take the honors. A vibrant timeframe for these flashy transcontinental trains with the same room available from New York and the east coast to LA via the New York Central or Pennsylvania. This was a classic train a time capsule seen here in this video recreated in 1/48. Not an easy task at 36 or more feet long with 13 full scale fine scale cars produced and upgraded by its owner. Sunset Golden Gate Depot, Fine Art Models, and Pecos River Brass make up this unique model.
