A veteran cop who turned down a promotion after the fatal shooting of his partner, Sergeant T.J. Hooker (William Shatner) now splits his time between a street beat and training young recruits. Working under the ambitious and politically-minded Captain Dennis Sheridan, Hooker and new partner Vince Romano, a headstrong rookie with a lot to learn, investigate assaults on women by a Bible-toting assailant and pursue a motorcycle gang that has turned to the arms trade. And whether in the academy classroom or on the streets, Hooker aims to expose his young recruits to the pressures and realities of police work.
