BACKSTORY:
For a long time, I've wanted to cover this whole performance. I've tried it many times, but there was always something in the way. Like a small riff I was missing, one note in a solo I forgot, not getting the tone right throughout the whole show, missing a pedal, not having the whole pedalboard set up correctly for the whole show, struggling to figure out a specific chord and then still remember it when everything else was in check.

Once I figured all that out, there was the recording aspect of it, like the camera overheating 1 hour into the show. So this was not actually the first time I played through the whole show, but it was the first time without the camera dying. 😅

All of these aspects makes my brain go "don't mess this up don't mess this up don't mess this up ..." on solos and more rare parts of the show, which is why I did mess up here and there throughout the whole show even though I've played that exact part correctly a thousand times before. 🤦‍♂️

Therefore, to me this video is just what the title says, my first try. I'd like to make more tries in the future. However, doing a new try immediately just feels tedious and like a chore.

So, instead of making a new try, I decided to document all my knowledge of this show into a very easy to digest way. It both helped me to see the show in a new light, and will also help me to rehearse the show smoothly once I want to make a new try.

The documentation process was fun and also refreshing, since it was a new approach to my guitar playing. So I thought to myself, why not make a course of this that other guitarists can access? And so I created The RHCP Slane Castle Course.

COURSE CONTENT
The RHCP Slane Castle Course designed to approach the study of the show from many different angels, making it suitable both if you're not previously familiar to any of the songs/show and if you know most of the songs but just need to get some details of the show right.

I managed to do this by creating seven different modules:

1. Video lessons - Goes through every song in the show in great detail. Several hours of lessons so you can nail that one part you're struggling with, or go through all the lessons if you're a beginner.

2. Pedalboard demos - For each song there is a videos explaining exactly how the pedalboard is used.

3. Amps & Recording - A PDF that details the exact amp settings, recording technique, plugins etc.

4. Tabs - Right now, there are 9 tabs in both PDF and Guitar Pro format. This could expand over time based on your demand.

5. Overview video - A 55 minute video that goes though each unique guitar part of the whole show. If you know everything I go through in this video, you can play the whole 1 h and 42 min long show.

6. Overview PDF - A 25 pages long PDF where one page writes out all the unique guitar parts of the song. If you know all the parts explained in the document, you can be confident you know the whole show. Perfect when you know most of the songs but just need to quickly figure out where you're lacking.

7. Audio tracks - Here you get access three tracks: the full show audio, the full show without the guitar and the isolated guitar. All three audio files syncs perfectly, making it possible for you to import to e.g. your DAW and have full control over what you want ot hear and what you want to play along to. Perfect when you want to pick up the nuance in John's guitar playing to get the details exactly right. In addition, you also get my isolated guitar, both audio only and with video. My isolated guitar also syncs perfectly with the rest of the tracks.
