Supreme Court Dismisses Trial of Al-Mustapha in Kudirat Abiola Murder Case

Описание: The Supreme Court has dismissed the trial of Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, in connection with the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of late politician, MKO Abiola. Kudirat Abiola was murdered in Lagos in the aftermath of the nationwide crisis that followed the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election. The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of justices led by Justice Uwani Aba-Aji, held that the Lagos State Government had lost interest in the matter and abandoned the prosecution, thereby dismissing the case.
