This incredible dry stone wall "Sur Béroie" in Saicourt, Switzerland, was built in 2021-2022 using ancient techniques that require NO mortar—just skill and stone.

In 2022, volunteers spent 3 weeks carrying, cutting, and arranging 33 tons of stone to create 33 meters of wall using traditional methods. This UNESCO-recognized craft creates vital habitat for wildlife while preserving centuries-old building techniques.
A collaboration between the Municipality of Saicourt, Burgergemeinde Biel/Bienne, and Pro Natura Jura bernois for biodiversity conservation.
