This coming week is an important one for the African National Congress, as it builds up to its January 8th Statement in celebration of 112 years of its formation.
As the country heads to elections this year, this statement is expected to articulate the party's priorities and strategies for the upcoming year.
During president Cyril Ramaphosa's tenure, the ANC has faced widespread criticism from the public and some of its members over various issues including the state of SOEs, load shedding and the ailing economy.
Thousands of ANC faithful are expected to gather at the Mbombela Stadium to hear the party's plans going forward.
