Yeah so was not actually planning on wild camping up on Bamford Edge the evening of this camp. But got to Bamford and was driving round by Ladybower Reservoir and surrounding areas for nearly 1 and a half hours trying to find a suitable parking space to get to my original location.

Once I parked I was cutting it fine for time as I wanted to be able to set up, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset as it was a very clear night.
I did get to actually relax and enjoy the sunset. but as you will see, that is as far as it got.

Once the sun was just setting over the hills giving its final glimpse I hear a quad bike and then saw it coming across the moors. It approached me and had 2 lads on it. Which were Moscar Gamekeepers from the Moscar Estate who have Bamford Edge / Stanage Edge / Derwent Edge / All surrounding moors and Hallam Moors.

They were polite and said "We hate to be the barer of bad news but you can't camp here tonight sorry...." I knew why but have not had issues before.
I actually had a good chat with them and basically they said since restrictions have been lifted from 12th April 2021 after the second Covid Lockdown there have been more and more people coming to 'The Edges' and "trying" to wild camp.
I say "trying" as they explained to me they were never usually to 'bothered' as such about us 'true' wild campers as we were never any bother. I showed them my rubbish bag, explained about my channel and how I always enforce LNT (leave no trace) and they thought that was brilliant.

The issues they have been having is people coming up in groups, leaving rubbish everywhere, wedging litter in the heather or just leaving it to blow all over the moors and even lighting fires!!! They told me how they had to move a group of 7 people the other week who had actually taken a big bag or charcoal up for the fire.... disgraceful!!
Now you can understand why they are so annoyed!

I asked them nicely if I could stay as I was getting up for the sunrise anyway and I said I will get up and pack away in the dark to sit and watch the sunrise. That way if anyone comes to watch it also they will only see me with a bag and no tent set-up. But they said there were some other campers further up they were going to next so if they let me stay they would have to let them stay also. So they are having one rule... NOBODY is staying.
So fair enough I packed up and left.

So once again idiotic people who have no clue or respect have ruined certain things for some of us. Doesn't mean we cant wild camp just means places will have to be more carefully chosen.

Make sure you get the landowners permission when you do, as this didn't help me with changing my decision last minute. But the Moscar Estate will not be granting any permission on their land anytime soon!
