078: Wainman's Pinnacle and Lund's Tower (South Pennines 2017)

This was actually a last minute idea as I had never originally planned to make a "Solitary Rambler" film in this particular location. However, during some research just a little earlier this year I discovered a couple of points of interest in the area, which made me decide that it was essential for me to film here.

I am now very excited to have made this film, which takes place in a part of the South Pennines that falls within the county of North Yorkshire. The featured walk starts and ends in and around the villages of Cowling, Craven and the pretty hamlet of Ickornshaw.

The highlight of the walk is Earl Crag, a wonderful gritstone escarpment with views over Cowling and the valley of Ickornshaw Beck. Better still, and my reason for filming here, is something on Earl Crag locally known collectively as the "Salt and Pepper Pots".

"The Solitary Rambler" is my series of amateur films of my journeys in the countryside accompanied by my own musical scores, which I compose and perform on my Yamaha keyboard.
