Описание: I almost gave up riding when grief and stress showed up as physical symptoms that made motorcycling feel hard.
It wasn't fear.
A couple of months after losing my dad, I would get ready to hit the road and something didn't feel right when I tried to ride my bike. My hands would shake. I felt a sense of dread before I even turned the key. I thought I’d lost my nerve.
What I didn’t understand at the time was how grief — or even stress — can show up physically. Tightness in the chest. A hollow feeling in the stomach. Oversensitivity to noise. Exhaustion that doesn’t quite make sense.
I would never have ridden if I believed I was putting myself or anyone else in danger. What I was experiencing wasn’t recklessness — it was confusion. And understanding that made all the difference.
